This reminder goes to sbay.org, Stratofox, SVWUX, Linux Picnic, RadioExam,      
and Direxant.  The SBAY Pizza is where these communities come together for
open discussion.

The upcoming SBAY Pizza technical/social discussion will be Saturday, Jan 17.
Remember, SBAY Pizzas are on 3rd Saturdays at 7PM - mark your calendar.

Location: Mountain Mike's Pizza at 2011 Naglee Ave near Bascom (also near
I-280 and I-880) in San Jose.

The restaurant does not have its own Wi-Fi.  SVWUX members will provide
at least one Wi-Fi gateway to a cell modem.

Subjects for discussion: (besides informal talk that can cover any topic)
* SVWUX members have been looking into how to optimize the configuration of
  the Ubiquity Nanostation 5 for the point-to-point links for the Emergency
  Wireless Network currently under development. http://www.svwux.org/
* In preparation for the upcoming 5th anniversary of the CSXT Space Shot
  (the first amateur rocket launched to space, which Stratofox recovered)
  Stratofox posted a summary of all the search & recovery efforts.  This
  includes the landing site coordinates which were not previously posted

* A presentation about Stratofox is on the program for the Space Access '09
  Conference, which will be held in Phoenix on April 2-4.
* We've been planning to set up Direxant as a mapping/geospatial/GIS expert
  community bringing together talents from SVWUX and Stratofox, and to
  pursue projects of the group's own choosing.  It will not have a monopoly
  on these activities within SBAY - we don't work that way anyway.  It will
  just provide a forum that hopefully will be of high enough quality to
  attract participants.  At the SBAY Pizza we'll set a time and place for

* The SBAY Board of Directors will have its first meeting of the year on
  Mon, Feb 23 at 7PM in Santa Clara.  This is open to any members of the
  corporation or any of the Special Interest Groups which make up the
  organization.  Though only elected members of the board may vote.  If

SBAY Pizzas are a technical forum that sometimes start other new technical
projects.  The subjects evolve with current technical topics along the
themes of electronic communications systems and Open Source software.  We
generally talk until the restaurant closes, and sometimes continue outside.

  or suggestions for new ones.
* Any member's or participant's accomplishments or other cause for celebration
  if it's related to SBAY or SIG activities
* Internet server administrivia, protocols, security, and development
* Wireless networking including but not limited to 802.11 WiFi
* Ham Radio repeaters, transmitter hunting, and data communications
  (Transmitter hunting topics can include rockets and high-altitude balloons)
* IP telephony (maybe some PSTN still too)
* Broadcast radio and television
* "AT&T Blunder of the Month" (formerly "SBC...", formerly "PacBell...")
* Silicon Valley economic observations... what's up or down?
