Linux Picnic is 501(c)3 now
The Linux Picnic has been granted 501(c)3 tax-exempt status by the IRS, via our non-profit umbrella corporation
The South Bay Community Network, Inc..
We received notice from the IRS about a week after the picnic. It is effective for all the sponsorships this year. Donations to the Linux Picnic are now tax-deductible in the US.
Technically it's effective back to March 2006. But that wouldn't become relevant unless you already have some other reason to re-state taxes from 2006.
