Hello All,

Lets meet 6pm on May 27th (Thursday) at the baylands park to discuss about the upcoming picnic.

Like every year, we need to design a flyer and logo for this years picnic. And so, I would like to invite everyone to participate in the flyer and design contest. please crank your artistic side helps us design picn*x 19 invitation flyer and (or) logo by submitting your entry for the contest. I will send out the submission rules and deadline sometime soon.

I'm in need of volunteers who can help me with picnic planning tasks such as handling email communication, handling sponsorship. These tasks are minor and will not take a lot of someone's time. So, please send me an email if you are willing to help and can spare some time for the picnic.

Baylands Park is accessible from Caribbean Dr just north of the Lawrence/Caribbean interchange on SR237. The park does not charge for entry after 4PM.

Location: initially Baylands Park as planned; when rain started, changed to Giovanni's New York Pizzeria 1 mile south at Lawrence and Lakehaven
Attendees: Venkat Venkataraju, Ian Kluft, Bernhard Hailer, Heather Stern

• discussed contacts for fund-raising and Open Source groups for recruiting
• Heather will promote the picnic at a SciFi convention (BayCon) this weekend
• Ian will make a rough image for the T-shirt contest image
• Venkat will make the flyer for BayCon, which will serve as a starting point for the flyer for Open Source groups
• The T-shirt contest will use the whimsical theme of "If you don't submit a better image, this is what we're going to use. Is it a contest or a threat? You decide!"
• Bernhard will coordinate a team for T-shirt and flyer image contests
• Venkat suggestion: RSVP system should add an ICAL event for the picnic to confirmation e-mails to make it easier for people to add it to their calendars
• We'll take the lists of volunteers from previous picnics and make a volunteers list with a lot of blanks to fill in - it will help point out what we need
• The current highest priority for recruiting is a fund-raising coordinator
